Golden girl: Claire Danes four for four at Globes

By Randee Dawn and Ree Hines, TODAY contributors

If the Golden Globes ever had a "golden girl," actress Claire Danes would be it. She went into Sunday's awards show with a career total of four Globe nominations to her name, and ended the night as a four-time winner.

Danes, 33, ?nabbed her first award when she was just 15, for the cult -favorite TV show "My So-Called Life." It was another 16 years before an all-grown-up Danes picked up her next top honor for the HBO telefilm "Temple Grandin."?

The trend continued after she assumed the role of Carrie Mathison in "Homeland," which returned her to her series roots. It's also earned her the award for best performance by an actress in a drama TV series two years in a row.

On Sunday, she looked stunning in a flowing red gown just one month after giving birth to her first child -- a son, Cyrus,?with actor Hugh Dancy.

She took a moment to express her gratitude to the organization behind the Globes for the all the appreciation.

"I have to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for being so insanely generous towards me for so many years now," Danes said after receiving her latest prize.

She then spread the thanks around. "I (also) want to thank the other women in this category who are so badass, so brilliant, and have all in their own way contributed to making television this wonderfully rich place for really dynamic, complex, bold female characters."

Those women included actresses Connie Britton, Glenn Close, Michelle Dockery and Julianna Margulies.
